A children’s entertainer at a birthday party at home in Toronto works best when the act suits the children’s ages, the space you have and the rest of the party. Plan those, then send us your date, venue and guest count, and you can compare options with prices for entertainers who are available that day.
The children’s ages
Tell the entertainer how old the children are and how many are coming. Ask which part of their act suits that age, and how they keep the youngest children involved.
A show, or stations
Some entertainers give a show the children sit and watch, such as magic or puppets. Others work at a station, such as face painting or balloon twisting, where children come up one at a time. Some do both. For a station, ask how many children they can see in an hour.
The space at home
Tell the entertainer where the party will be: a living room, a basement or a backyard. Ask how much space they need, where the children should sit, and whether they need a table or power. For a backyard, agree on what happens if it rains.
Fitting it into the party
Ask how long the show runs and how long the full visit is. Tell the entertainer when cake, food and presents happen, so the show fits around them, and whether parents will stay.
Allergies and checks
If a child has a skin sensitivity, ask what face paint they use. If a child has a latex allergy, ask about balloons. Ask whether the entertainer has a vulnerable sector check.
Questions to ask before you book
- Which part of your act suits our children’s ages?
- Do you give a show, work at a station, or both?
- How much space do you need, and do you need a table or power?
- How long is the show, and how long is the full visit?
- What face paint or balloons do you use, in case of allergies?
- Do you have a vulnerable sector check?
- When will you arrive, and how long do you need to set up?
What changes the price
The price depends on how long you book, the number of children, whether it’s a Saturday or in the holiday season, and travel outside Toronto.
How booking works with AGNT
AGNT is a booking company. You send us your date, venue and guest count, and we check which children’s entertainers in Toronto are available that day. We send you options with prices. You pick one, and it’s booked once the deposit is paid. If your first pick isn’t available, we’ll tell you and suggest a similar act who is.

How we put this together
We wrote this from what parents ask when they book an entertainer for a birthday party: the ages, the space, how long and what the entertainer needs. It doesn’t list prices, because they depend on your date, how long you book and the act you choose. You’ll see prices with the options we send.
Your next step
Tell us your date, venue and guest count, and we’ll send you Toronto children’s entertainers who are available that day, with prices: book a children’s entertainer in Toronto
