When guests are mingling
If guests are standing and talking for much of the event, a magician can go from group to group without stopping the conversation. A comedian needs a moment when the room is seated and quiet.
When the room is seated
After dinner, with guests in their seats, either one can perform. Ask a comedian for clean material, and give them a short brief on the room. Ask a magician whether their show brings guests up to take part.
Booking both
You can book both: a magician while guests arrive and have drinks, and a comedian once everyone is seated. Send us your running order, and we’ll ask each act how they’d fit into it.
What the room needs
- For a comedian: a microphone and a sound system everyone can hear, light where they stand, and seats facing them.
- For a strolling magician: room to move between the groups.
- For a magic show: a spot everyone can see, and a microphone in a bigger room.

The price depends on how long they perform, whether you book strolling magic and a show, whether it’s a Saturday or in the holiday season, and travel outside Calgary.
