Booking a DJ for a Wedding with Two Cultures in Toronto (2026)

When a wedding in Toronto brings two cultures together, the DJ has more to plan than a playlist: music both families know, the traditions you’re keeping and when they happen, and announcements everyone can follow. Plan those, then send us your date, venue and guest count, and you can compare options with prices for DJs who are available that day.

Music from both families

Tell the DJ about both backgrounds, and send songs from each that matter to you and your families. Ask whether they already play music from both, and how they’d mix it through the night so both families hear music they know.

The traditions you’re keeping

Make a list of the traditions you’d like, such as an entrance, a family dance or a special song, and when each one happens. Ask whether the DJ has played these before, and whether any of them needs a particular song or a pause in the music.

Announcements and names

Decide which languages the announcements should be in, and whether the DJ, a family member or a friend will make them. Send the DJ the names of the wedding party with how to say each one.

Other performers

If a tradition includes live music, dancers or drummers, tell the DJ who they are and when they perform, so the DJ can hand over and pick up again without a gap.

Questions to ask before you book

For a longer list, see what to ask a wedding DJ before you book. These are the ones about two cultures:

  1. Have you played music from both of our backgrounds?
  2. How would you mix the music through the night?
  3. Have you played the traditions we’re keeping, and do any need a pause or a special song?
  4. Can you make announcements in both languages, or work with someone who does?
  5. Will you practise the names of the wedding party?
  6. Can you work with other performers and hand over without a gap?
  7. Can we see a video from a recent wedding?

What changes the price

The price depends on how many hours you book, whether it’s a Saturday or in the wedding season, sound and lighting if the venue has none, and travel outside Toronto.

How booking works with AGNT

AGNT is a booking company. You send us your date, venue and guest count, and we check which DJs in Toronto are available that day. We send you options with prices. You pick one, and it’s booked once the deposit is paid. If your first pick isn’t available, we’ll tell you and suggest DJs with a similar style who are.

How we put this together

We wrote this from what couples ask when they book a wedding DJ: the music, the traditions, the announcements and the other performers. It doesn’t list prices, because they depend on your date, your hours and what you need. You’ll see prices with the options we send.

Your next step

Tell us your date, venue and guest count, and we’ll send you Toronto DJs who are available that day, with prices: book a DJ in Toronto
